Poster dimensions are 12X14 (no margins or frames)
Poster must be developed on a white cardboard only (no colored card boards).

Take Home Test

Due Date:    Monday, November 4, 2013  before  9:00 a.m.

All students will hand in the take home test before 9:00 a.m. to Mrs. Nieves. If by any chance the teacher is not present, the students will hand in the test to the office. Test after 9:00 a.m. will receive a 5% reduction. Test handed in the next day will receive a 10% reduction. Be responsible and hand in your test on time.

Test 2 The Giver

The test will be on Thursday, October 10, 2013. Make sure to go over the memories. Focus on the details Jonas perceives. Analyze the ending of the novel.  Read the novel, this will give you a better chance to get a great test score.

Pop-up Book Assignment

Hello Students of 11th Grade
I have decided to move the due date of this assignment to Thursday, October 3rd.  Those students that are able to hand in the completed work following the instructions accordingly, can hand it in on the original date and receive a 3 point bonus. I´ve notice that some of you need more practice with  descriptive writing. Here are a four simple sentences that you will transform into a picture.

Instructions: Read each sentence. Select descriptive words to create a vivid image of the text. You will hand in this assignment on a separate piece of paper on Monday, August 26th.

1. The food in the cafeteria was unappealing.

Please continue reading the novel. The test will be next Friday, August 30th. The chapters that will be covered in the test are 1-11 of the novel. The test will also include a section with Precision of Language. You will need to use vivid language to construct sentences.

PRE TEST

Instructions: Download the 11th Grade Pre-Post Test Student Edition. Read the instructions carefully.  Answer the questions using the answer sheet. There are sections that will be done in class. Make sure to complete this task individually. I will be using this information to identify the areas you need help with and those you already master.
